The
initial I.C.E.Y. Honorary Board Member is President Kim
Dae-jung, 2000 Nobel Peace Prize laureate. His
widow, Lee Hee-ho will serve as his representative.
President Kim met with the Youth Ambassador for I.C.E.Y.
– H.O.P.E., Jonathan Lee and expressed to him that the
21st century’s most critical issues would be
the environment and climate change. He also stated
that getting youth involved in helping the environment
would be the hope for the future.
On
October 27, 2009, Lee Hee-ho said, “I am honored to
serve as the initial honorary board member, representing
President Kim Dae-jung. I agree with I.C.E.Y that is
it important for the youth of today to protect the
environment from further harm and to help prevent extreme
climate change.”
